Forano is a marketing product and service that helps local businesses in Portugal reach foreign tourists and expats. We operate the website at forano.pt.

2. What data we collect

When you join our waitlist, we collect:

• First name and last name
• Email address
• Type of business you operate
• Language preference (English or Portuguese)

We also collect anonymous usage data automatically via third-party tools (see section 4).

3. Why we collect it and our legal basis

We collect your personal information for the following purposes:

• Waitlist management — to notify you when Forano launches or when early access opens. Legal basis: legitimate interest and your consent by submitting the form.
• Service communications — to send you relevant updates about Forano. Legal basis: consent.
• Analytics — to understand how visitors use our website and improve it. Legal basis: legitimate interest.

We will never sell your data to third parties or use it for unrelated marketing without your explicit consent.

4. Third-party services

We use the following third-party tools that may process your data:

• Formspree — processes and delivers form submissions. Data is transmitted securely. Formspree Privacy Policy
• Google Analytics (GA4) — collects anonymised data about page visits and user behaviour using cookies. Google Privacy Policy
• Meta Pixel (Facebook) — tracks page views and form completions to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. Meta Privacy Policy

All three services may transfer data outside the EU. Where applicable, they rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission.

5. Cookies

Our website uses the following types of cookies:

• Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics to track visitor behaviour anonymously.
• Advertising cookies — set by Meta Pixel to measure ad performance.

By continuing to use forano.pt, you consent to these cookies being set. You can disable cookies at any time in your browser settings. Note that doing so may affect how the website functions.

6. How long we keep your data

We keep your waitlist data for as long as Forano is in pre-launch phase, or until you ask us to delete it — whichever comes first. Once we launch, we will give you the option to continue receiving communications or to be removed from our list.

Analytics data is retained for 14 months by Google Analytics (their default). Meta Pixel data is retained according to Meta's standard data retention policies.

7. Your rights under GDPR

As an EU resident, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right of access — you can request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Right to rectification — you can ask us to correct inaccurate data.
• Right to erasure — you can ask us to delete your data at any time.
• Right to restrict processing — you can ask us to limit how we use your data.
• Right to data portability — you can request your data in a portable format.
• Right to object — you can object to processing based on legitimate interests.
• Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. In Portugal, this is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD).

8. Data security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. Our website runs over HTTPS. Form submissions are transmitted securely to Formspree. We do not store your personal data on our own servers.

9. Children's privacy

Forano is a B2B service intended for business owners. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 18.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
